Its cool here, and I have bottle of Cold Drink in my hand.
Life at peace ... !!!

Looking outside the window I see, the beautiful scene, lake, hills, trees and some tens of high buildings and shopping mall.
There is hot sun pondering heat outside, but we are comfortable in AC buildings.
Everybody seems happy from this place ..... !!

Below that construction is going on,
Women are moving bricks, cement and sand, Men breaking the stones.
I can see their bodies shining due to sweating
There must be some one sick or week enough to do that work.
Thought which comes to mind is,
Is this the society, is this the system.
I am feeling more healthy than them, stronger than them,
Instead of those women and those lean workers, this work should be given to me.
Place at which I am sitting, should be given to them.
I feel myself more fit for that job
Do I really NEED and DESERVE that, what society is giving me.

The supervisor or someone other comes and orders them to do it quickly.
For whom they are doing this much effort, not for themselves.
Some rich industrialist will come and buy that, He will employ some of them as security guards or peons there, again to scold them.
And we, sitting in the beautiful building with all the facilities, doing a little work whole day,
for whom?
for some industrialist who will make money out of it, again invest, employ some of us and again the cycle will repeat.

In the mall we visit often, there are several restaurants,

We prefer MacD burgers because they are comparative cheap.
How much? 53 Rs
Our cheapest choice of having a taste is the daily salary of someone, and this is cheapest.

Security guards and sweepers of mall work whole day to serve us
they serve whom, the people who will again put them in the same position of serving.
It is the hardwork of these people which allows this so called mall development, and what they are given back nothing, they are making something which will add to their misery.
Their hardwork is of no use, they cant even buy one burger for their kids.

Coming back to the hostel in an auto-rickshaw, often i see some old person going on bicycle, or some women with 2 kids walking, or some workers sweating after whole day's work walking because they do not have enough for getting some vehicle.
I am feeling good, done nothing whole day, I am fit and I am using this vehicle.
I am more fit for walking.
who NEEDS this more, me or them?
who DESERVES this more?

should I offer this auto-rickshaw ride to them, and start walking.
No, others sitting in this auto, will make fun of me, and will protest. so lets continue with what is going on.
But still the thought is how unfair is the distribution.

the age of innocence,
the age in which we had our own little world,
with a belief that we could do anything
with our strangest attempts and funniest deeds

I feel myself lucky that I still remember a lot of that time.

I was in K.G. or 1st class that time (I remember this because we shifted home, when I came to 2nd standard )
It was the month of April or May.

At that time my mom always put the fan on 3 or 4 (numbers on regulator)
And when I found it hot, I always used to ask mom to put in on number 5.
But mom (lost against my insisting) said "It will rain if you put the fan on 5"
And I used to give up after this argument.

One day I came from School (they leave kids at 11am)
The room was on first floor.

Then mom went to my neighbour's house for something.
I was feeling hot and I thought i should give it a try, let us see if rain comes or not.

I came near the door and dragged the chair, when I was climbing on that, I saw outside.
There were washed cloths on clotheslines.
As that was summer season, they were almost dried now.

I thought if it rained , then these cloths would be wet again, wasting all the efforts of my mom to wash them.
I dragged the chair outside below the clothesline and removeed the first cloth, then went inside and put that on bed, came outside, dragged the chair, removed 2nd cloth, went inside, came back again, dragged chair ......
... and after some effort I removed all the clothes.

I dragged the chair back to the room, below the switchboard.
I climbed up, rotated the regulator and
and
and
To my utter surprise I saw darkness outside
yeah
sun was gone and clouds were there.

Now I was frightened, If mom came to know about this she would scold me. !!

I rotated it back to 4, then dragged the chair outside, below the clothesline, went inside, brought one cloth,
put that on the line, (it was very tedious as i wanted it to look the same as earlier)
i went inside, brought another cloth, dragged chair further and put it on..
................
..................
.......................
after sometime, all clothes were on the line.
then I thought they are not in the same order,
I tried to put them in position,
and while doing so I realized ... sun had appeared again from quite sometime now.

Now I was relaxed.
I went inside, climbed on the bed and I was happy with number 4 now.

:) :) :) :)
This incident has just occured to me , I never told this to anybody, It was just in my faint memories.
Although now I am publicly sharing this ... before I forget this !!
AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-11765898898622027362011-05-28T22:43:00.000-07:002011-05-29T10:03:53.849-07:00HSS Dance .. by Sonal Nimbkar Madam
If you ask anyone, which course you liked most in college life .. especially from students of IIIT Hyderabad, they all will look at you like you have asked which one you like most osama, saddam or Kasaab.
I usually try to walk with eyes closed many a times so this was not a problem, I tried but after 7-8 steps, i felt like i was walking like a blind man.

In next class she made us play dumb-charades on animal names instead of movie names. We had to act like them and producing their sound was allowed.
I got "bat" to act upon. I tried by doing acting and showing black colour, it was easy so everyone guessed.
But when i came back, Akshay mani told me that you could do this by showing cricket bat.
Oh ya!! i though, I was lost in that game, that i forgot about winning it that way.

In next class she gave a stick, ask all of us to sit in a circle, everyone has to come in the middle and do something different with that:
someone used that like cricket bat, someone used it like pen, badminton racket, hammer, flute, straw, screw-driver, meter rod, key board, broom, water bottle and many other different things.
We just came to know that there is enormous creativity inside everyone.

In next class same thing was done using a piece of cloth.

In one class she asked what you saw in dream last night, just tell us all, without using your tongue.
Everyone was showing something, the scene was divine.
It was so beautiful that i could see what the person in front of me dreamed last night, and surprisingly everyone was doing this very enthusiastically and skillfully.

After every class students asked mam when will you teach us dance, she always replied this was dance.

Best thing was that I didn't know there will be grading in the course.

Everybody though it is just a pass or fail course. While some of them enjoyed the course, others didn’t even show interest in it. But the thing was that every class we attended was full of fun, because there was no worry of grades, and cramming up things before the class. Every class we attended with a fresh mind full of creative ideas. This just shows how the modern education system has put this component out of the the learning. It was totally unbiased learning. :)
AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com17tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-58698109010200606832010-11-24T06:27:00.000-08:002010-11-24T06:32:41.353-08:00What is Life
Life

A sphere with two poles

poles of birth and death

A span of goals

a trajectory follows

festival time.........
I thought to go to home, booked ticket with Tatkal Scheme and reached Home sweet home :)

8/11/2010
I had ticket of Doranto Express
Departure time - 3:50pm from H. Nizamuddin railway station.

At 12:05 pm I took Intercity express from Rohtak and to my surprise it took just 1 hr 10 min to reach Old Delhi railway station.

Time - 1:15 pm
Place - Old Delhi railway station

I crossed 6 platforms to reach inquiry and it says next train to Nizamuddin/New Delhi is at 3:45 pm

Ohhh
two most important stations of Delhi and no connecting trains !!!!!!!!

Delhi Metro !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah i thought, i smiled and went to Chandni chauk metro station.
Again hell
just two ticket counters were open out of ten, and a queue of 50 persons was there,
I have enough time, i thought and after a long long time i got the token.
It was 1:50 and i took metro to New Delhi railway station.

Time - 2:15 pm
Place - New Delhi Railway station

After walking some hundred meters and going through two security checks, i entered the railway station.
I inquired and finally saw an EMU train standing on platform number 3.
I rushed and when i was on the fly over, train started.

And i missed that. :(

Then i came to know that next train is at 3:30.
I thought not to waste time and reach Nizamuddin by road.

I came out of New delhi Raiway station and saw a brand new Green colored bus written H. Nizamuddin Railway station on it.

Someone told me there that it will take just half hour.
its ok with me.
I took the bus it was 2:40 then.

Now came the biggest surprize of my life.
After 5 minutes Driver announced

-"Bhai, kisi ko raasta maalum ho to aage aa jaye"
(If anyone know the path, come to me)

I was shocked
everybody was shocked
My ear drums came outside, they wiped their eyes and crying, they again settled into my ears.

Hell
Public Bus driver don't know the path!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now people started murmuring and what they said :
- Its all due to cwg
- No today obama is in Delhi na, tats why
- No actually today some routes are changed
- no actually some signboards are changed due to cwg
- This driver is drunk
........
.......

Then one old man went to the driver and bus again started but after 5 minutes, that man got out from the bus.

Now driver was helpless like us.
somehow somehow asking here and there, we reached Nizamuddin station.
It was 3:45.

I rushed in and found train is on 6th platform.
I ran upstairs and the train started.
till I reached platform 6, even the last bogie was not visible. :(
I missed my train. :( :( :(

I was sweating now. :(
it was 4:00 pm.

I ran towards station master's office and asked what to do now?

He suggested, go to New Delhi railway station and request TT of A.P. express.

A.P. Express !!!!!!!!!!!
yeah good option

I rushed outside again
and asked an autorickshaw, he said he will take 500rs,
I said 50
na 70
I said 50
ok 60
I said 50
ok done

we started journey and it was composed of all red lights,
yeah bad luck never comes alone.

somehow at 5:20 I was at New Delhi Railway station.
I asked station master, he said don't waste time, go to ATM, have some money and take the train,
Ok i said
and ran outside,
ATM site was free, and with in 2 minutes i was back with 1500 in ma pocket.

I went on flyover and
it was consecutive 3rd time,
I was up and train started.

I ran hard but still
I missed A.P. Express too. :(

Cursing my luck, and fully wet in sweat i went to station master again.
He advised to go to Nizamuddin station and try for next train
Dakshin Express.

oh shit, dakshin express
it is the last option in everybody's list.

This time i thought to stick to railways and waited for an EMU.
After 1 hr, i was in train and after 15 minutes further, I was at Nizamuddin station.

Now I was fully tired and almost shivering,
I put the heavy luggage on a seat and
my mind was saying, go back home, today is not the right day for you.

But i rested ma body for a while, dring one full bottle of water and ate all the food i took from home.
Although it took 45 minutes, but now i was in my body away from all thoughts.

Then i went to station master's room again and asked what to do now.
After 1 hr of requesting, he said if i'll give him 5000 bucks, he will arrange for some VIP seat in dakshin express.
I had neither that much money nor the will to spend them on journey if i had that!!!!!!!!!

I came outside and asked the reservation officer what to do?
After 2 hrs of requesting he took me inside reservation hall and discussed matter with other guys.
till then one person came with charts and all were lost in that.
after 2 minutes all said, sorry we cant do anything,
broken down, looking at earth i started walking,

suddenly i turned and asked, please check again can i get it till nagpur or bhopal.
All gave me looks and again lost in the charts.
then one person stood up, gave me a form to fill and asked for 500 rs.
I was givan a confirmed seat in sleeper coach till Nagpur.

I came outside and I was smiling.
It was 10:00pm
I seated on my berth and just slept.
Yes, I slept instantaneously.

I woke up next day at 11am, a nice sleep of 13 hours,
Then at Itarsi station i requested TT.
In 200 rs he agreed to extend my ticket till hyderabad.
And he said, I am just giving you ticket, not the berth,
so after nagpur, i have to leave this berth.

But after nagpur, a nice uncle-aunty came to that seat and they had just a single seat.
Huh
God sent 3 people to the seat made for one.
But the aunty arranged a seat for herself in next compartment.
and I was left with uncle only.

Uncle said their son is studying in Hyderabad and preparing for IIT-JEE.
here my college name helped me and uncle said, dont worry we will share the seat.

finally after that long night at 4am I reached secunderabad. :) :)

this journey was memorable due to co-passengers too, but that will take lot of space here, so skipped those parts of journey :)AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-84188412336699870962010-09-20T07:16:00.000-07:002010-09-20T07:16:09.841-07:00I see god in you
Theorem of love

Aman Bahl

Published on 20/09/2010 on shine-someday@blogspot.com

Problem statement:

Dialog of SRK in "rab ne bana di jodi" .....

""oye !!! dard !!!!!
Pyar to rab di meharbani hai ji, to pyar me kaisa dard, aur rahi baat pyar chahne ki, to pyar sirf pyar ke badle thode na kiya jata hai
ab dekho.....
mujhe aap me rab dikha to mujhe aapse pyar ho gaya.....
aap ko kisi aur me rab dikha aapko us se pyar ho gaya,....., its very simple ji""

Now,
How !!!!

Assumptions:

A famous saying "Only god will see your intentions, rest all will judge you by your presentations"

Theorem explanation:

This means all whom we love, are judging our intentions.
Whatever we do and whatever people will say about that, they will understand us.

loved = {parents} U {teachers(only those whom you love :P)} U {babies} U {oldies} U {friends} U {girl friends} U {boy friends}

NOTE : {girl-friends} and {Boy friends} are disjoint sets

All of them are god (as all say)
you love them all
because ""......................(lots of answer and lot of crap)..........................""

No
After this theorem
because they understand you.
You need not to worry what they think, you have synchronization with them.
They are god, magical eyed people who have sixth sense to feel our eyes, heart and words.

Some solved Examples:

1.) Take a baby and throw him/her in the air.
he/she still smiles because he/she understand your intentions.

2.) Abuse your friend, he still won't slap you, because he knows you.

Cautions:

1.) Don't slap your profs to check this theorem.

2.) Don't throw oldies in the air.

lemma:
I love you coz i see god in you.

Some unsolved questions
Then what is love in first sight?

some raised their 2 fingers towards teacher while asking
"Mam, may I go to drink water"
or
"Mam, may I go to toilets"

But mistakes made us mature.
When some confused student mixed them........... whole class went on laughter and teacher.......red eyed
..............
that mistakes really made all mature.

Teacher generally reply "yes"
But when all start going to teacher she got annoyed and said let first ones come.

And when next teacher arrived she asked monitor
where are others

till then seeing madam entering the class, all rushed in.

It was maths class.
Mam opened the book and started teaching.

she solved the solved examples of the book and asked us to do the unsolved one.

What the hell
She solved the solved thing.
But we are also bonds.
Check the answer from the last pages of the book.
Then started the question and solved that.

But she called some one to come to the board and solve that there.
now is the bigger problem.

Some short ones couldn't reach even middle of the board.
They just start writing and finally without finding the answer, filled all board with font size double of normal. :P
This was the best escape.

While taller ones always considered dumber, height was the problem :P

Except teacher who else is looking at the board.
none !!!

Most of us were got hungry till now.
So
below desks
Lunch-boxes opened and after seeing and smelling the fuel, some closed them and put them back.
While others took a small bite to taste by leaning behind the desk.

Anyways whole class got the aroma of what everybody got.
If someone got ladyfinger than whole row came to know what it is?

Mam : Who has opened his Lunch-box.
None replied.

Those who had something left in their mouth swallowed.AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-61546372197394657622010-08-22T00:43:00.000-07:002010-08-22T00:43:13.806-07:00Those school days - 10Period change

In primary classes we had to sit i the classrooms while period change.

Monitors took the responsibility.
Generally monitors were 1 boy and 1 girl.
They keep on ordering us to keep silence,
But we didn't listen to them until they start noting our names.

If they give our names to teacher she will
------------- SLAPPPPP -------------- aah aah :P

In between one student picked the duster and cleaned the board except that part on which Homework was written.
Generally it was the duty of first bencher's to mark a line dividing the board into two portions.
On the smaller one they wrote H.W. means Homework.

Then Teacher asked the monitor, what was the homework.
Usually it was to read class work or to write some word meanings given at the end of every chapter.

Then Madam asked monitor to collect the notebooks from everyone.
And make them stand who didn't bought.

Then she will put all those notebooks on first bench.

Now
Time to look into the brains of students, had they layered it with their homework or not?

She threw a word and asked first bench student to tell its meaning.
Those who answered right were allowed to sit, those who not were not. !!

Some were smart enough,
they had settings with partners.
If boy didn't know the answer, girl will write it on something and put it on the desk and vice versa.

If some intelligent mind didn't know the answer, his/her face grows red and he/she will look earth with moist eyes.

While

If some other didn't answered, what he will do
Laugh at others.
Look here and there.
With nothing in mouth, move his jaws like chewing a center-fresh.

Now there was one more scheme
If u r standing and know the answer, You can raise your hand, tell the answer and ensure your seat.
Intelligent minds always had their eyes and ears concentrating on madam's lips.
While ask any other what madam asked ..............they didn't knew even this !!:P

Finally
either words got finished or her lips got tired.
She asked all to read the next chapter in the same position resting on bums or feet.
And herself started checking the notebooks.

Usually she just looked at the page for a second and if she caught some error, she encircled that.
And at the end put some remark like
Improve spelling
Improve handwriting
good
very good
excellent

All studious guys were always keen to find last three remarks on their notebook.
While all others just take the notebook and put it in the bag.

Bell rang
Madam asked monitors to pick remaining notebooks and follow her to the staffroom.AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-68856527189659220882010-08-20T11:47:00.000-07:002010-08-20T11:47:10.410-07:00Those school days - 9We were copying the answers from the black board.

Although the board used now a days is rarely black in color, still it is called black board :P

We used Pencils those days
When Pens were made allowed to us.
We were asked to write question will black gel pen and Answer with blue gel pens.
ball pens were not allowed that time.

although some funky boys used green color for writing questions, Girls used pink, purple, magenta and so many other colors introduced by stic that time :D

When we need to edit something earlier we rub that with eraser nicely.
Some harsh students rub that so hard that sometimes page seemed like it was raped.

But while using pens
we overwrite the word again.
teacher asked us not to overwrite but cut and rewrite the word.
Okay
But one day teacher came to my desk and saw my notebook.
It was full of cutting.
She told me that there is a way this can be avoided.
I thought she is giving me some solution for better concentration while copying.
But
she just said do not cut the whole word completely
like this

But cut it slightly like this

What the hell !!!!!!!
She was just talking about appearance of my writing. (Cuttings could be not be seen from a distance now :P)

And that time
some students bought erasers which could erase the text written by pen.
But
they were just useless, they just remove the skin of paper.......!! :P

And like this all answers were completed and we were asked to memorize the answers for next class.

Bell rang
She closed her register and in between those who were outside came in the class.

We were asked to open the books and those who didn't bought the book were asked to stand up
and then after some slaps or other punishments
she told us to share books and finally started the proceedings.

One student will stand and read from the book.
And after each paragraph madam told its meaning.

But
Who was studying?
No
Not at all
Ironing both sides, folding and ironing both sides again,
again folding and again................ till it seemed like a well folded hard paper :P
Some were busy staring the book. And after that they will start different activities like :
They were filling the circles of a,b,d,e,g,o,p,q ............ really its fun doing this.
They were making the mustaches of the person printed on the book ............ poor person ...!! :P :D
They were making the cartoons.
They were making sketches and doing shading in the book.
They were writing their names and trying signatures which they will use in future.

Some were looking in the lunch-box of partner to see what they have got.

Some were busy looking outside the window or the wall with a finger penetrating their nostrils.

Some were putting candies in their mouths and they were moving them inside the mouth here and there.

Some were arranging their geometry boxes and doing several our things like:
Sharpening the pencils.
Cleaning the rubber and making it white by rubbing it :P
Trying to rotate the screw of sharpeners blade.
Rubbing the pencil led to sharpen it like a javelin.

Some put pencil-ends in their mouth.

We opened our eyes.
It was time of todays thought and today's news.
One student read the thought and news.

The tag-line of both were fixed and I still remember how it sounds. ... !! :P
then some announcement and finally the song.

Usually it was "Sare jaha se achha, Hindostan hamara" ya "Vande Matram".
It gives an awesome feeling when we all sing it in chorus.

And Finally National Anthem.
While most of us sang that properly, some keep rubbing their shoes and teachers keep giving them looks.
And after that wonderful minute of National Anthem came the big trouble.

It was checking of dress, shoes, nails etc etc
We were already standing in the queue and asked to walk towards the classes, but at the end of playground it was something which if I passed I would have my chest and shoulders blown out while if failed shoulders dropped and eyes looking down.

Teachers usually were very strict in this manner and check our school badges, our belts, color of shirt, nickers, socks and shoes carefully.
Shoes must be polished. (As teacher want to see her face in the shine of our shoes)
Nails must be cut short. (as with long nails we'll cit her throat)
Haircut must be regular. (They got commission from barbers)
hairs must be oiled and combed. (we must look good when we are with them)

When badge was missing, standard argument was "it fell in the journey to the school", but this never worked.
When shirt was found different in color, "It was dirty, Mom didn't washed it" or "It was torn" etc etc
They rarely worked.

When shoes were not polished "I polished them but there was mud in the path" ....... never worked !!!

Sheer innocence sometimes even melt Hitler type teachers.

Then students were filtered on this basis and those who passed, went to classes, those who not were made to stand in the ground.
Then they were scolded and asked to stand there for sometime, or make a round of the ground or some fine etc etc ....... this kept on changing in whole school life.

And After some months that prayer was shifted to respective classrooms only.
Bell ranged.AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-15781367592132088352010-08-13T01:26:00.000-07:002010-08-13T01:26:44.763-07:00Those school days - 4Second Morning bell rang.

It was the duty of class monitor to take all of us to the prayer ground.

All tried to to be in the queue to stand along with their friends, but unfortunately we had to stand according to our heights.

So our convoy started.

It crawled with enormous pushes from back.

we tried to give finishing touch to our dressings, like tying up all the buttons, arranging school badge and belt in the right positions.

Some were rubbing their shoes from the socks, standing on the other leg only. to make them seem polished.

Chit-chats continued in the path although class monitor advised us to put our forefinger on our lips.

So finally we reached prayer ground.

It was a small area, with a little stage on a side.

On which School Principal and some teachers were standing.
Music teacher was ready with some students on instruments and himself on harmonium.

We all were commanded attention/serenity.
And then to stand with with eyes closed and hands joined in prayer style.
After Gaytri Mantra prayer started.

During the prayer I used to open my eyes many times.
And what I saw was
Some of them again rubbing their shoes.
Some were yawning. (small hands covering that little aperture looked so cute)
Some were like me looking here and there.
And some trying to hide their nails
Girls were adjusting their ponies.

If it would have been winter:
Some were rubbing their hands to get some heat out of it.
some were adjusting layers of cold-creams and boroplus :P which their moms applied on their faces.
some were trying to put both hands inside the sweater.

Teachers standing between and at the end of queues tried their best to make us civilized.
But kids are kids.

Standing in the ground in that hot summers made at least one student to see stars and lose consciousness and at last fall on ground.
Teachers rushed in and took him/her in some room.
I don't know how they treated them, I never went there.... :)

Prayer continued.

Some were really interested in the prayer, and kept their eyes closed and lips murmuring something.
I also did this many times.
And that was the most divine scene one can see on this earth. Little kids lost in prayers.
Seeing them itself gives divine feeling.

And finally main prayer ended.

As I entered, the first BIG question in my mind was where to sit.

No

I had read in romantic novels that everyone tries to sit with the most beautiful girl in the class, and if that is not possible, at a position from where you can glance at her. I had read that sitting near a beautiful girl gives one a lot of pleasure, adds to his status and many other such 'blah' reasons..........

But in my case, that wasn't the problem! My seat was already fixed.

It was Karan in classes 2nd,3rd and Anshul in 4th,5th who shared that small bench with me. As all of us would take our seats, it would be time for us to arrange our bags and bottles because as soon as the 2nd bell would ring, we would be taken to the prayer ground by our class monitor. So, we would put our bags into the space provided in the desks. My bag could hardly fit in, as I always used to carry books of all the subjects whether or not I needed them on the particular day. But Anshul's and all other students' bags would lie comfortably there, while mine would be sometimes on the desk, and sometimes on the floor. :P

After settling down, it would be time for us to exchange pleasantries with the other class mates. We would move into our respective smaller 'groups' and started discussing 'street' cricket, playing trump cards, talking about kites, colors and crackers depending on the festive season. Some would show off what their parents had bought them, some would boast about their deeds of last evening.

----------------Second morning Bell-----------AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-17032162873670847792010-08-11T06:36:00.000-07:002010-08-11T06:36:58.778-07:00Those school days - 2So finally we reached the school, we got down from the auto-rickshaw and rushed at the back of it where our poor school bags were hanging.

we took them, adjusted them on our tiny shoulders and ran towards the school.
At that time that heavy schoolbag felt as they were full of cotton balls instead of books and notebooks.
That run had always been special, reaching school before time always gave some extra relief and fun to our little hearts.

Although some used to go to stationary shop for pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener, scale, D..... and all that
That time Pencil cost 1.5 rs, eraser 2 rs, scale 1.5 rs ........ and pencil with rubber attached to it 2 rs.
Some erasers gave smell like fruits, they were colored but not of good quality for erasing purpose.
Sharpener with rubber attached to it and also some colored image that changes if we change the view, that cost 5 rs.
Shopkeeper also kept some candies and toffees, and also some packets which were hanged on the wire tied to both sides of the gate. they always fascinated me.

Suddenly first school bell ranged.
All rushed into their respective classes.AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-10229585096056295842010-08-10T07:17:00.000-07:002010-08-10T07:26:45.591-07:00Those school days - 1Those days used to begin with rising of sun as usual.
But something was different,

it was not the sound of alarm or the hard knocking on gate to wake me up,
It was just a gentle voice of mom which was more powerful than all these.

I used to get fresh and then get ready for school,
these days I do both 2-3 times in a semester.....!!

There was a zest from my inside to look better than others in the class.
I used to polish my shoes daily and wear only well ironed school dress.

Sometimes I used to tie my collar buttons as our principal madam asked us for that.
Although all say don't do this, because we didn't use neck-ties.

Then it was time of breakfast, after which a glass of milk flavored with bournvita..... Now I can count on my fingers, How many days in current semester I have taken milk.

Then our auto-rickshaw driver comes and I along with 9-10 other kids will fit in that tightly packed vehicle.

Journey to school is always full of chit-chats, some girls playing antakshari, boys showing tatoos and cards.
Some geeks read notebooks and then hand them to others to ask questions and listen to his/her answers.
And some of them were even more geek, they used to read from notebook, put a hand on written text, keep their face upwards and then try to answer it again.
During the 20 minutes trip many times water bottles kiss our lips and then again were hanged.

Sometimes it was races with other auto-rickshaws that add fun to our journey.
This is how we used to reach the School.AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-65539786137251719772010-06-13T14:36:00.001-07:002010-06-14T01:46:53.905-07:00Dinner in the showerIt was my second day of swimming.
There was coldness in the air as compared to other days.

We came back from swimming.
Suddenly Surtani came to my room inviting us to his birthday party.....:)
We got ready and left for Grasshopper (A Restaurant near the college).

We all took the open air table on the ground floor.
A cute girl came and welcomed us.

We ordered our meals and meanwhile Sanidhya started playing with his favorite toy Jasmeet............:P

Suddenly we felt the shower. ya it was drizzling.

What the hell......!!

We can't dine in shower..!!
We went upstairs, On first floor there was shed.
Tables were arranged, and we took our positions.

But drizzling was finished.
Now, it was time for heavy rains and blubber wind storms.
and more than them a POWER CUT.

Candles were brought but kept aside due to winds.
Scene was dreadful.

Then
waiters brought our fuels and we attacked the chiken, paneer and tandoori roties.

Most of the crowd accumulated on the left side of the bench.
But the other side people including me were facing the showers.

Even the heavy curtains were ready to give up, tables and benches were put there to remind their duty.
some water also accumulated on the roof. but I must admire the waiters who folded their pants and were actively serving us.

After some time
we were having water filled in our plates and curry.
chapaties were almost wet.

BUT
our apatite rose to those monster clouds. We ordered more and grazed everything to the root....... :P

I was shivering with cold. Others also felt some cold and tea was ordered.
Meanwhile raining stopped.
We all enjoyed that tea and coffee.

Then that girl cam again with the bill.
Oh we all forgot about that girl while dinner.....!!AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-48956305585039284022010-06-13T12:24:00.000-07:002010-06-13T13:28:12.304-07:00Music RoomThey are music teachers of or school

As soon as the bell rings we have to go to the music room.

Wait.....!!

keep your shoes outside the room.

done with that

we entered the room, it is a large room,

Music instruments are resting every two feet apart on the walls of the room.

Oh some of them we are seeing for the first time.......!!

Two teachers were there.

Saroj Madam in green sari(mostly she wears green or light blue or mustard color saree).

She if fair in colour, long black hairs and talks sweetly.

Hari Om sir in faded grey pants and white shirts. round spectacles, pen and one diary in upper pocket.

We were asked to sit in rows, one hand apart.

Saroj madam took harmonium and Hari Om sir took command on tabla.

They started "Chandan hai is desh ki mati, tapobhumi har gram hai....."

We were expected to sing in chorus but that rarely happened.

In between

Madam closed her eyes and lost in harmonium.

Sir lost in tabla and his head was moving along with his hands ,........., irritated with that, his hairs also started moving ......... :P

We were singing the song, and in between we used our hands as poles and swing our whole body ......!!

(It may seems funny but it's easy...... sit in padmasan, fix both of your hands on ground, straighten your arms, your body will now be hanging, you can make swings....... )

then bell ranged and Madam stood on the door,

we were expected to put the shoes in rows but we are we.

And

My faint memory(it had been 11-12 years) says that I was slapped by Saroj madam many times.

But why, this I forgot. What could be the reason ??

After that we were shifted to boys wing.

Anyways

There were twenties of instruments in the room, What were they doing there.

In my school life of 12-13 years, I haven't touched any.

AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-11143292272849244402010-06-13T07:30:00.000-07:002010-06-13T13:29:33.402-07:00Anita ralhan madamAnita Ralhan mam
She taught us Science in 5th class.
After that we were shifted to boys wing.
Haven't heard about her after that.........:)

She was different from others.
Unlike other science teachers of primary classes, she doesn't make us read the chapter and do the questions.

I sill remember how once she took a beaker filled of water, asked some student for his eraser and took a thread to show us the buoyancy and the Archimedes principle.

Once she took a small pulley from physics lab to show us that downward pulling is easy than upward.

she also used coins and pencils for showing buoyancy.
she asked us to bring tulsi leaves and all other available leaves to see difference between patterns and properties.

similarly she used many small and simple things to make us learn, and experiment.
She always motivated us to think, In one way she was the one who made me interested in science.

I never got good marks in science in that class, but still I had a very good image in her eyes.
while other students say madam is sullen and morose, I think she is nice .......... :)AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9149948916343767937.post-2763088105228098812010-06-09T00:26:00.000-07:002010-06-09T00:26:43.114-07:00Shear loveThat sun seems smiling
When she took our first class in 6th standard.

Virtually, everybody was amazed
She was sweetest

How she talked about discipline, and said that now you are big guys, you have certain responsibilities.....!!
our chest was 2 inches broader after her words...!!

She has brownish complexion, and age of around 50-55 at that time.
in her dark color saree, rounded spectacles, dyed black hairs, she looked nice. She was short and thin at that time.

She taught us English.
most important thing was that she taught bhangra for the school's annual(?) festival.

She used to punish us by slamming sticks on our palms.
She was mother of all misers in giving marks.

Her pet sentence:
If you were caught talking in her class
She count her five fingers one by one like this:

baby finger : bhai
ring finger : sahab
middle finger : aap
index finger : kyu
thumb : bole
and then with that hand she will slap you ..........!!

She always ask first row student to stand up and read the chapter,
and interrupts him after every two words, everyone feels irritated. :P

sometimes for some pronunciation mistake, sometimes for telling the meaning and sometimes if someone is doing chit-chat.

She was always nice for most of the class.

-------I called one of my classmates to inquire about her, what he said : "Aur kuch to yaad nahi, bas itna yaad hai ek bar mera notice galat ho gaya tha to usne bhot mara tha" ------
I was literally ROFLMAO.AMAN BAHLhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09347529512857898288noreply@blogger.com1
